RESTLESS
When we hear the band name Restless, we first think of the English Neo Rockabilly Band Restless, which borrowed their name
from the song The Restless by Carl Perkins.
About the Swiss band Restless is not much known up today.
The members Rolf Furler voc-guit, Rolf Hösli bass (before
with Volcan, Fresh Color), Steffä Jost guit
and Roger Ineichen drums (a short time with Vorwärts) where all from the
region around Basel. The band did existed from 1979 to 1983.
Live concerts were played only in the region of Basel. Also did they
only release this one record in 1982 on Musk in an edition of 500
copies. What makes the difference is that fact, that
Jimmy Duncombe, the former singer and guitarist of English
Rock'n'Roll band Jimmy and the Rackets, which moved in the late 1960s
to Switzerland and than became one of the two founders of the famous
Powerplay Studios (where these two songs where recorded)
had recorded and mixed the two songs.
That means, the two songs stay for a solid international standard production. So they miss off course for what Swiss Punk and Wave stays for,
if you know what we mean!? Their are off course other exceptions
like the 7" singles from The Nasal Boys, Dieter Meier or Dieter
Meier and Fresh Color.
We did receive a couple of MINT archive copies from the Ex members. This is one of the rarest 7" Swisspostpunk Singles today anyway!
